Our work is connected to the development of Niobium technology in Brazil, as well as the construction and expansion of this market. It has taken years of investment in research and development to understand its effectiveness and demonstrate the benefits that make Niobium one of the main bets for the future.

We launched, in partnership with Giaffone Racing, the EXO Nb: the first line of UTVs with Niobium technology.

2020
We celebrate 50 years of technical and commercial partnership with Japan.
2019
We celebrated the 40th anniversary of our technical cooperation agreement with China.

We announced our investment in 2DM, a Singapore firm dedicated to Graphene technology.
We held the first edition of the CBMM Science and Technology Award.
2018
We announced our partnership with Toshiba to produce lithium batteries with mixed niobium and titanium oxides (NTO) anodes.

2017
CBMM becomes first company in Latin America to earn Nadcap accreditation for materials testing.

We inaugurated our Metallurgical Materials and Processes Research Center in the city of Araxá - Brazil.

2011
CBMM's laboratory earns Inmetro ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation (environmental sampling & testing, niobium assays).

A Chinese consortium acquired a 15% stake in our company.
A Japanese/South Korean consortium acquired a 15% stake in our company.
2010
CBMM completes REACH registration (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals).
Our Conservation Breeding Center was licensed by Ibama (Brazilian Environment and Natural Resources Institute) as a Scientific Breeding Center for Conservation Purposes of the Wild Fauna.

Integrated Management System consolidated.

CBMM signs Open Letter to Brazil on Climate Change (Forum Clima, Instituto Ethos).
2008
CBMM's Environmental Development Center launches Cerrado preservation campaign.

Our ferroniobium production capacity reached the 90,000-tonne mark.

RMMG (Rede Metrologica de Minas Gerais) recognizes CBMM's laboratory's environmental sampling and testing.

We inaugurated our Asian subsidiary in Singapore.
CBMM Technology Suisse started its activities in Geneva, Switzerland.
Our European BV subsidiary started its activities in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.
2006
Moreira Salles Group consolidated the 100% shareholding control of our company.
We obtained the ISO 27001 certification (Information Security).

Our ferroniobium production capacity reached the 70,000-tonne mark.
2004
We inaugurated CBMM's Cerrado Arboretum.

2003
We obtained the ISO 9001 certification (Quality, transformation of ISO 9002).

2002
We Obtained the OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety) certification.

We inaugurated our special alloys unit in the city of Araxá -Brazil.

We finished the Environmental Development Center in Araxá.

Our ferroniobium production capacity reached the mark of 45,000 tonnes.

We inaugurated our Technology Center in the city of Araxá -Brazil.

We became the first mining and metallurgy company in the world to obtain an ISO 14001 (Environment) certification.

We started the production of optical grade niobium oxides.

Ferroniobium produced in electric arc furnace.

Our oxide unit started operations in the city of Araxá -Brazil.

We opened our Asian office in Tokyo, Japan.

We started large-scale production of niobium oxides (production capacity of 4,800 tonnes).
We formally started our technology activities in China.

We inaugurated our North American office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the US.

The contract establishing a Participation Account with Camig
